The web is slow... oh, the pain, the pain!
I'm not sure if it's kosher to report on *past* events, as in like two days old, but there are a couple things I want to bitch about.
The first is DSL, which destroyed my computer and broke my furniture, although I managed to repair my bed with some old phone books I'd never gotten around to recycling (until now!). Of course, just AFTER I cancelled it Peppermint (from spindizzy) explained that trying to hook it up to the USB port was stupid, and I should have bought an ethernet hub and let it all just work automatically.
Screw it, I don't need DSL.
The second is my car, which might be sort of getting old and breaking down. Friday it overheated for no reason on the way to Chris' game. I pulled over to the side of the road, but couldn't get out to check the car because of traffic, and about 1 car in three was stopping as if to let me get out or pull back in (and then zooming past before I'd actually have time to successfullly complete either). I let it rest for about thirty seconds, then turned on the heater, and it seemed to work, and in fact the temperature dropped REALLY quickly and immediately.
On the way home, the dashboard controls cut out. I couldn't adjust the heater or use my blinkers! Scary driving in a black car at night on the freeway and not being able to signal, but I made it home alive.
Today, everything worked again.
I think it might be time to get a new car. Although I can imagine trying to sell this one:
'96 Dodge Neon. Still Runs. As Is' would be the one I'd expect to actually get nibbles on.
'96 Dodge Neon. Usually runs, occasional oil leaks, overheating, battery problems and console malfunction. Cracked windshield. Body damage.' is just TMI, I think.
How much does it cost to dump your car into the lake?
While I'm at it, MSN dialup is acting up again and silently disconnecting me. It does this every night (except for the nights that it doesn't and I don't notice). It's still more stable than Earthlink. Current Mood: bitchy
