It's depressing -- waiting for the cable internet to be installed makes dial-up less bearable. Well, I guess part of that is that dial-up's been getting steadily less adequate for years now...

Anyway, I decided to try reading one of the books I'd ordered through Amazon a while ago -- the Golden Age by... Wright? By the guy who did Orphans of Chaos.

The Golden Age is a lot better than Orphans of Chaos. A lot *weirder*, too. It shares a lot of the same themes, though -- memory erasure, different schools of post-humanity, and fake English societies. I read it for a couple hours last night, and only put it down when I realized it was time for bed...
